The Cape of Good Hope
Black and white, 3 x 2 format
The iconic and infamous Cape of Good Hope at a view that was supposed to show what it really is -- an important waypoint for ships heading to the Far East and Australia on the so called "Cape Route" but also a reminder to stay away from the most dangerous waters in the world. Approaching it from land (which is actually the only way to approach it), you face a wind that never stops blowing and will rarely be below near gale strength. Inhospitable, eerie, and a compelling demonstration of how huge this planet really is.
